The Bigelow chair was designed for a commission by the Carrabassett Valley public library. The seat is deeply contoured for maximum comfort. The deep contour seat along with the profiled backrest gives the chair an organic sculptural feel balanced with elegant symmetry. The detail on the chair back shown is the profile of the Bigelow mountain range. This design element can be customized with the profile of your choosing. The chair is available in five different woods. Ash is typically used for the legs and spreaders but custom orders are available. As for durability, we use traditional wedged tenon joinery proven to withstand generations of use. Hand rubbed oil finish.
